DME hits 4 billion barrels traded mark
DME announced today that it has now reached the 4 billion barrel mark, with a total of 4 million contracts (eqv. 4 billion barrels) traded on the Exchange. This milestone comes just 10 months after the DME passed the 3 billion mark and continues the trend of strong trading growth on the Exchange.

DME Strengthens Board of Directors with Appointment of Oil Industry and Commodities Leaders
The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the leading energy futures exchange in the Middle East, has strengthened its board of directors with the appointment of two new directors who bring DME into closer integration with the CME Group, a majority shareholder in DME and the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace and enhance DME's position in East of Suez oil futures trading. Daryl James Pattison, a 43 year oil industry veteran and former Vice President & Energy Futures Manager at Goldman Sachs in New York, who leads Singapore-based Concord Investments at Concord Energy PTE Ltd, one of South East Asia's leading crude oil and refined products trading companies, and Ken Vroman, CME Group Senior Managing Director, Commodities and Information Products & Services, will join the DME board effective immediately.

40% growth in settlement window volumes on DME in 2012
DME announced today that average daily volumes ("ADV") in the settlement window on the Exchange grew by 40% in 2012 reaching 1407 compared with 1003 in 2011. November saw record levels of activity with a window AVD of 1,696 contracts and the Exchange's highest ever single day window volume on November, 15th at 2,545 contracts.
