Ahmad Sharaf (Chairman, DME)

Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Ltd, Ahmad Sharaf was the vice president of business development (Middle East) and president for Saudi Arabia at ConocoPhillips, one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies. He has held various senior technical and commercial responsibilities both regionally and in North America. Mr. Sharaf is currently CEO of Dubai Energy, a newly formed subsidiary of Dubai Holding which is entrusted with investing in the energy sector. He has a Masters in Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Mr. Sharaf also has a Masters of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He started his career in 1989 with the Dubai Petroleum Company.
