Shehzad Waheed, Chief Financial Officer


Shehzad Waheed was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME) on April 29, 2007. Shehzad is a seasoned financial executive, bringing more than 17 years of experience in financial management, corporate finance, corporate accounting and consulting to the DME.

Prior to his appointment by the DME, Shehzad Waheed has held a number of senior finance roles, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of Orbit Communications Company in Bahrain, where he managed the financial operations and growth of the privately held pan-regional direct-to-home digital satellite TV and internet company. Previously, he was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance LLC in South East Asia, where he was based for five years, and prior to this position he worked for more than nine years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Business Recovery Group and Price Waterhouse LLP, Audit and Business Advisory Services in Los Angeles, California.

Shehzad Waheed holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angles (UCLA) and is qualified as a Certified Public Account and Chartered Financial Analyst.
